Let me be really clear about something before I really go further:
Nothing is wrong with you.
You're not less than anyone else who's succeeding where you're stuck.
You're just programmed a certain way.
And that programming is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
Think about it like this:
When you were a kid, maybe trying something new got you criticized.
So your brain learned: "Don't stand out. Don't try. Don't risk looking stupid."
And it created a program: "When opportunity shows up, create a reason not to take it."
Or maybe you succeeded at something once and people treated you differently. Resented you. Expected more from you.
So your brain learned: "Success is dangerous. It changes how people see me."
And it created a program: "When success gets close, find a way to mess it up."
These programs got installed years ago. Maybe decades ago.
And now they're running automatically.
You're Not Choosing This
You're not waking up and deciding, "You know what? I'm going to sabotage myself today."
Your brain is following code it was given.
Code written by:
Your parents
Your teachers
Your early experiences
Your traumas
Your environment
The stories you were told about who you are
You didn't write that code.
But it's running your life anyway.
Ask yourself:
"When did I first learn that it's not safe to succeed / be seen / stand out / change?"
Think back. What memory comes up?
That moment; or moments, installed the program.
And now, years later, it's still running.
Not because you're lazy.
You don't need to try to be unprogrammed.
You just need to update your programming.
You need to observe yourself from time to time
To see if your programming is getting you closer to your goals.
If not, you can release them and reprogram yourself in a way that help you
And that's where The Framework of Change Mastery comes in.
